Major breakage ALERT!

Dry, Brittle, Damaged hair? Sound familiar? YES!!

In this line of work taking a break from the blow dryer and curling iron are not really an option so when I started to notice MAJOR hair breakage I panicked!

After a trip to my stylist, several conditioning treatments, haircuts, nothing seemed to work so I turned to google. Believe it or not Mayonnaise kept popping up. At this point,  I'd do anything to get my hair back to looking healthy.

It's best to buy the regular stuff because of the oil so I didn't go for the low-fat or healthier version.

So here we go...with the help of a butter knife I was in business. After I lathered it into my hair (with a little extra on the tips/split ends) and tied it in a bun I used a shower cap to lock in any moisture.

You can leave the mayo in over night or however long you want. Β

5 hours later I used my regular shampoo & conditioner to wash out what felt like a thick & oily cream.

After about a day or so I can honestly say I felt a huge difference! In fact I did the whole 'mayonnaise treatment' twice this week because I was so happy with results but, that's on top of products to protect my hair from the sun & heat.

The breakage has definitely stopped so if you're in the same boat I hope this helps!

*coconut oil also works really well too, plus it doesn't smell as yucky, GOOD LUCK!

Jurassic World...In 3D!

Let's face it, it's expensive to go to the movies these days. Few movies are worth your hard earned money, especially for a family. With that being said,  I would definitely recommend you watch this new movie! Spring for 3D if you can. It's totally worth it.

Waited a week after opening day so that I was guaranteed a good seat ;)

The graphics and animation really lend itself to 3D so it's pretty cool to feel you're part of the action! Including the moment T-Rex is unleashed!

Thanks @DaveBackstageOL for the official Jurrasic World T-Shirt. Β

Also, you don't necessarily have to watch the first movie (Jurassic Park) to understand the storyline, but it is pretty neat to see the parallels throughout the film. It definitely shows how far we've come in modern day film. If you were a fan of the first, you will love seeing some of the same props used in this latest movie.

ENJOY!

The Right Stuff

We now know the winner of American Idol right? But, it was actually all the performances people were talking about today. I have to admit most nights I'm asleep by 7pm but when I heard PITBULL was on I bolted out of bed just to hear him say...DALE! Anyway, New Kids on the Block also took to the stage and I thought this photo would be the perfect throwback.

November 2004 Jordan Knight performed in San Marcos. I worked at the campus radio station (KTSW) at the time & thought it would be good practice to call his people and book an interview, to my surprise he was cool and agreed!

I have to admit I was so nervous This was like my teen heartthrob!! My sisters & I probably took about a gazillion pictures with the one poster we had on the wall. We may have played the cassette a gazillion times too!

Quinoa Shrimp Salad

People who know me well know that I'm not a huge fan of working out.

I'll exercise and participate in local 5K's but by no means will I go into the gym only to never want to return  because I worked myself to the bone.

With that said, I'm more of a healthy eating/lifestyle kind of person. I'll take the stairs, pass on the sweets, opt to walk etc. At home, I'm all about cooking or preparing my own meals, this is the perfect example of something I'll devour!

It took me about 15mins to cut all the veggies. The quinoa I made in a steamer so that was a good 45 mins but for the most part it was easy.
